8. Hello! Guten morgen (sp?)
Edited on Wed Aug-10-05 12:58 AM by CottonBear
Hello from Athens, GA, USA. It's 1:51 AM here. I lived in Germany, near Frankfurt, as a little child. I love Germany. I've been back to visit several times.

What's up with you? We still have the Dimson in office here. :(

11. Guten Morgen, Bluebear!
Near Frankfurt is where I am :) Have you been in Hanau?

As to what's up with us - the same tragical story as with you, we're just lagging behind a little. But I'm not awake enough for politics yet :)

Once again - beautiful stallion, that :)

14. That's my filly's stallion , Coromino, an Oldenburg - he's a German!
We lived in Kitzingen (sp?) My dad was an Army doctor in the army in the early 1960s. I vsited my German babysitter and our German landlords (from whom we rented an apartment) in 1991. They still lived in the same home! :)

I hope you are doing well. We talked about horses last month. I hope that all things equine are OK with you! Peace! CB

Edited on Wed Aug-10-05 01:33 AM by CottonBear

She liked to stick her head out of the barn when she was with her dam. The other pic is when she was weaned and growing her first winter coat! I'll try to upload more recent pics.

27. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw! What a beauty!
The picture where she's sticking her head out of the barn would make a GREAT poster!

Tignous - that's the Barb-Arab - would go nuts over her. He loves babies, I've never seen another gelding behave like this.

36. Thank You! She is very pretty. She's quite the princess at the farm!
I'm afraid that she might lord over Mr. Tignous. Cotton (now 15.1 hands and almost 1,000 pounds at one year and 3 months) lives with a 15.3 hand Holsteiner gelding of the same age. Cotton is most definitely in charge! She does love Magic, she just makes sure that she has first dibs on the hay and she always outruns him when playing! I think that is because of her thoroughbred bloodlines

On the other hand, Tignous might be the first to put her in her place! Horses are so funny. They have such a complicated social structure, just like we do!

Cheers! CB

39. Yes, you never know. It's definitely not a matter of size.
And while Tignous lords it over other horses given half the chance he's quite used to being lorded over. Our big one spends half the day lording it over him. He'd need a large herd for his large urge to boss others around. Poor Tignous has to toe the line ALL the time.

Please post more pictures of your sassy princess! I love cat pictures, I really truly do, but there aren't enough horse picture threads on DU :) And I must find some means to post pictures myself.

But now I'm off to clean the stable and feed my monsters and then flea market.
:hi:

Just kidding. I don't eat lard from the can by the spoonfuls. Honest. Really. The pictures are faked. Photoshopped. THE TRUTH IS A LIE

:)

Hey once I went to Amsterdam (heh) and the breakfast buffet at our hotel had this cheese that was yellow with flecks of brown something in it (seeds? I don't know). What cheese was that? Aside from Cheddar melted on eggs, I've never had cheese for breakfast and this was just delightful. I"m sure it was some type of...havarda or whatever, but since You're european You know everything there is to know about everything in europe.

what was that cheese, and where can I get some?

40. Ahem. Yellow cheese with flecks of brown?
Was it hard or soft? Or semisoft? Was it cow, goat or sheep? Could the brown have been caraway? There must be 2000 different cheeses in Europe. Or maybe 3000.

And what do you mean you never have cheese for breakfast? Aah, smoked raw ham, a 3,5-minute-egg, fresh German rolls and some cheese... Keep your cereal ;)
