I see June Cleaver as being a very strong personality.

I watched the show religiously for many years, and she never hesitated to call Ward on the carpet when he was screwing up. And he invariably agreed after hearing her that she was right!

I saw her as very warm, caring and strong. She commanded respect in that house!

And good for her for taking pride in her appearance! I do housework in my pearls because of her. (I skip the dress and high heels, I prefer overalls and Dr. Martins). It gives me a lift and helps adjust my perspective on housework. We all have homes, we all have to do housework (except those of us with hired help). It is noble work to keep clean bathrooms and fresh bedding for your loved ones.
Why act like a martyr over it? Do it with zest, style and panache!
