I guess that means I have "arrived"?

1. I can relate.
I have 2 leads who contradict each other. Really pisses me off - am trying to learn how to play them against each other. Beyond that, my "rater" (real mgr) is 1200 miles away, and the local project leaders (whom I support) think they are frickin gods.

My position has evolved into this - but since you are new, you may want to try to nip it in the bud pronto. But if you can't, try to go with the flow.

2. The person I actually report to is on the other side of the country
The man who runs the office that I work in is a powerful and well established person in the company, so he trumps my supervisor. He just totally changed my job today- and he couldn't even be bothered to interview me for it in the first place. He basically dumped a huge chunk of his assistant's job on me, so she can do more for him.

I wrote it all to my supervisor so I hope to stop it before it starts.
