My Puppy is Doing the Humpty-Dance ALREADY! |
|
And he's only 9 weeks old! Isn't that a bit early to have the hormones kicking in?
At what age do male dogs normally start trying to hump everything? I used to have another Akita before this little pervert, but I don't recall him doing the humpty-dance so early.

he was already trying to hump my husband's leg, arm and whatever else he got close to!
I honestly think it isn't hormones or sex, but signs of an independant little guy who's showing that at a very young age.
FYI, my baby is now 12 years old, and is and has been the best little doggie in th world!
We adopted another Bichon from a neighbor to be his buddy, and they have been best friends ever since.

3. huh, maybe that's it after all |

I hadn't thought so at first since it isn't just other creatures or their parts that he tries to hump but also "things" like a pillow or blanket... but I just realized that whenever he tries to hump a "thing" it's something that I'm carrying or holding (it took me about a half hour to make the bed today with all his lustful romantic advances to the pillows and sheets).

Isn't that interesting! My other dog was still humping at least a month after the operation... I think the vet had mentioned that it takes several weeks after being snipped for the hormones to fizzle out.
My new lil perv will only hump his stuffed toys that are smaller than him... Pooh bear is a lot bigger, and he only cuddles with him. And then there's GARGANTUA Bear... I have this MONSTER sized stuffed bear that a customer gave me as a gift once, and he won't go anywhere near it (he won't even go in the room where Gargantua Bear lives). This thing is the biggest stuffed toy I've ever seen in my life... at least 3 times bigger than ME! I had to take the front door off the hinges just to mash it into the house.
