Has sexuality truly changed through the ages?
Mr. Writer found these while researching Medieval art on the net. These are actual reproductions of pins worn during the Middle Ages.

WARNING: Graphic in that artistic sort of way.

I wonder if there was a Fokus on thee Familee in the Middle Ages?

1. Mr Writer's been to the "Naughty Bits" page...
No, no changes through the ages.

Men, even holier than thou types, are just as titillated by naked females.

Case in point: the local fundies in Basra who decided to stop the 'shocking' fraternization of male and female students decided to beat to death a girl who wasn't wearing a head scarf. As much of a harlot as they viewed her, they felt it necessary to rip off her clothes while they killed her. If you're trying to spare the community the 'shame' of 'women gone astray', why expose all those 'shameful' secrets to the community?

Same thing with the witch hunting Inquisitioners. They liked to strip females and look all over their bodies for a "witch's mark". Why can't these types just admit they're lecherous pervs and be done with it?

2. Who said that sexuality had changed through the ages?
There are fluctuations, blips, extraordinary popular delusions, madnesses of crowds, but it has all been in place for tens of centuries. Plato, Sappho, Catullus, Sodom, Gomorrah anyone?

Yes, please.

5. Sex (along with air, food, and water) is the thread of humanity.
After all, if the ancients weren't getting it on, would we be here?

It's amazing the repressed attitudes people have. People who feel guilty for enjoying sex. People who don't know how to enjoy sex. People who can't discuss sex, much less do it. People who act like it's ok for men to be comfortable with sex, but not for women.

Sex is wonderful. If you're not doing it, do it. If you are, do it more. Bi, gay, strait, poly, monogamous, whatever. Just be who you are, find someone who wants what you want, and enjoy! :loveya:

6. I tend to think it has remained constant, however -
what about "furries"? Aren't they an entirely new phenomenon?

9. The whackjobs would have us believe that all people in ancient times
were pure and prudish but that is often not the case. Many societies were quite open about sexuality and by today's standards would be considered depraved. For examples read Porn in Rome and Ancient Egyptian Sexuality. *Be aware that these sites, while academic in nature, contain some mature content and graphic artwork.
