1. .
Smart, handsome, kind, generous, funny, and from what I understand, a liberal.

2. Wife beater
I thought he was talented too when I saw him years ago in Arturo Ui, then I heard about a year or two ago he beat the crap out of his wife (Beverly D'Angelo) and I lost all respect for him.

3. Whoa.
I googled all around and couldn't find anything to substantiate the claim that he's a "wife beater."

5. I haven't seen references to it, either. And they were never married
They seem to be arguing a lot over their two children. I saw no references to violence.

4. I really thought he was good in that....
Beautiful production as well...

We decided to buy it instead of seeing it in the movies...and we are so glad we did it that way!

Did you see him in "Insomnia"?

6. I didn't like Insomnia, but he was good. The whole cast was.
It was just a flat movie, to me.

20. Did you see the original?
It was much better.

I actually kind of liked the American remake, but the original was incredibly tense and taut.

27. It's Scandinavian
A joint Swedish-Norwegian production, I believe.

The main cop is played by Stellan Skarsgard. He travels up to the very northern reaches of Norway, above the Arctic Circle, to work on the mystery.

I thought it was odd that it was remade so quickly. The original is from 1997.

11. Pacino can get kind of hammy sometimes.
And "Scent of a Woman" was one of those times, IMO.

That Oscar, to me, was one of those "we didn't give him an Oscar for films that he deserved to win, but didn't, like Dog Day Afternoon, so let's make it up to him by giving him the Oscar for a mediocre performance, at best" kind of wins.

26. You grow old, you grow old
you will wear your trousers rolled.

(That's a paraphrase from a poem, just in case you don't know. I only put this disclaimer because I think I upset someone once before quoting it without citation.) :-)
