Gah! My doctor just said I'm fine. FEH!!!!
I know people with real diseases will probably hate me, but man I've been feeling kinda shitty lately and I thought for sure I had a kidney infection or at least a bladder infection or kidney stone.

About 3 weeks ago I found a drop of blood in my urine (a single drop at the very end of peeing), and so since then I've been paranoid. I had a physical scheduled for Monday, and it didn't recurr (the blood) so I figured I'd wait it out until the appointment, and I certainly told the Doc. everything I thought was wrong - from West Nile Virus to kidney failure.

So anyway, I waited, and just heard from my doctor on the urinalysis and the blood tests and everything looked fine.

FEH!!!

I'm a total hypocondriac, so I thought for sure I was in serious trouble. Back pain, blood in the urine, kinda muddled thinking, an elevated temperature (I've been running 99.3 for more than a week), I figured there was no way I would come out of a test clear, but there it is. He even contected the urologist and they said it's nothing to worry about if it just happened once.

So, is my fever self induced? I don't hold muscle weight very well unless I'm working out, and since I've been so sick I've skipped this week, and I'm losing weight fast.

Anyway, sorry to go on. I guess it's good news, but I thought for sure I was doomed, and as a hypocondriac, it's always nice when they find something treatable so I can feel like I'm on top of things.

So my cholesterol is 166 with a bad at 92. How does that stack up?

I guess I have to do some meditation or something to clear up my mind now.

4. Will do!
Thanks for the tip! I added it to my Netflix list. Unfortunately I'll probably catch something from touching the sleeve the DVD comes in.

2. The mind is a powerful thing.
Symptoms can occur that normally wouldn't be there. You may have made yourself sick with your mind! Glad to hear!

6. Yeah, I'm really bad with health issues
No matter what it is, I'm immediately sure I have it. Like when Elane thinks she has rabies in that Seinfeld episode, or Woody Allen in Crimes and Misdemeanors (or is it Hanah and Her Sisters?).

3. Could be
that you already passed a very small kidney stone and that the small amount of blood was related to that. Kidney stones can be fine like sand particles.

5. That's actually what I was thinking
My father and one of my brothers have had kidney stones, and I hear it's hereditary, so maybe that's what it was. The whole time I could just imagine this HUGE stone sitting there ready to move.

I hope that's it.

:)

7. I went to see my doc for a sudden vision problem.
He asked if I was under alot of stress and I said, "Sure, I'm a Democrat."

It is hard to watch what's going on.

10. i understand.
i have been exhausted for a year. can hardly get out of bed in the morning because i am so tired. i figured something was wrong because i used to almost bounce out of bed at 5:30, workout and go to work (after shower of course). now i am lucky if i get up by 7:30 and make it to work by 8:30. went to the doctor for my yearly blood work and told them everything. NOTHING WRONG!! i want to blame something.

12. Maybe you passed a stone
In that case, by the time the doc looked at you, you were okay.

14. Thanks :)
No, I like it that there's nothing wrong, it's just when I'm worried that something *is* wrong and they don't find anything, I kinda feel let down.

Anyway, probably all in my head. I'm glad, especially, to hear that my kidneys and liver seem fine. Whew! Organ damage scares the heck out of me.

15. 99.3 isn't a fever. It's warm weather and very mild dehydration. You're
simply not drinking enough water if you temp is elevated that little bit... you may also try gatorade; the thing about gatorade is that if it tastes good, you need it. If it's bitter and tin-tasting, you're fine.

Meditation would be excellent, yoga, pilates, 20 minute brisk walk 3 times a week, etc.

16. I drink a tremendous amount of water
Well maybe not *tremendous* but like a gallon a day, so it's probably not dehydration, and I also generally do do some exercise, though not as much cardio as I should.

Still, maybe my water is too clean and I should switch to the filtered water instead of the DI water I usually drink (it's closer).

I'll try the Gatorade too! Thanks!! It has been warmer than usual lately.
