Okay - what's new?

Been gone for a week. Anything exciting happen?

The most exciting thing about my trip was that we were 10 miles from that courthouse in Tennessee where the lady broke her husband free and shot the guard.

We also toured Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY. That was way cool.

We tried to follow Cindy Sheehan's story but without DU, we didn't get daily updates. Is she still in Crawford?

2. When are you going?

I have kind of a tight schedule coming up but would love to try to go to Crawford.

I have been thinking about you too. You know we Kansans get teased these days, but at least we know when school should start. Most of the places we visited on our trip had already started. One district in South Carolina started July 25!!

3. HA! I just checked back

before I have to go. I was thinking next week sometime. It should be no more than a 12 hour drive, possibly even 10. A couple of days, a little helping out and I will feel very good since I can't go to DC in September. I will probably go somehow anyway but just hate to think of driving that far alone, especially through Dallas. I have never been there without getting lost so a navigator would be lovely. We could have a great time and I could fit another if someone else wants to go. Anyone on 35 from Topeka to Crawford speak up. Let me know what your schedule looks like and I will try to fit mine into that since mine right now is pretty flexible (if I can find a horse sitter). YAY! Road trip!

OK, now I do have to go. I am going to learn how to work an auction lol. The Topeka AIDS Project auction is this weekend or I would be in Crawford now.

4. My mom's 80th birthday was yesterday

She is up and down these days. Thanks for asking.

I am committed to a meeting next week but let me see if I can get out of it. I absolutely HAVE TO be at work on Mon the 22nd. But I may be able to get out of stuff next week.

5. I think this is doable!

I have board meetings Monday and Tuesday nights but I can get out of the Tuesday night meeting. There is someone else from here who may want to go with us. I can't stay for too long since I have to pay someone to take care of the horses unless I can talk my husband into doing it and that is very iffy. So it sounds very possible. I will PM you later when I firm up some things. Could we plan on maybe Tuesday or Wednesday and stay for two days and two nights? If we can do three that would be OK too.

The only problem is that my pick up will not be comfortable for 4 of us. Tif is small but someone else will have to sit in back and it is not terribly big back there. Let me know, I will start preparing.

If nobody worries about being cramped I am game to drive.
