What silly expressions do you like to utter?
I borrowed "Gosh darn it, shoot" from my Radiology residents who were making fun of their program director. I also say "You big-nosed, baldheaded FOOL!" because we yelled it at indoor soccer referees oh so many years ago. The term "pencil-necked geek" applies very nicely to Kansas Senator Sam Brownback.

I know a tin fudgie is a fudgie with a motor home, and a wood fudgie is staying in a motel/hotel, etc. My mother had a bookstore north of Traverse City for 15 years. Is jigger a euphemism?

I also try to work "Jumpin' Johosephet" into any conversation.

by which I mean the Maritime provinces, my favourite saying from there is, "And there you were, gone." Yes, it makes no sense.

example.
"So, boy, I turns around and there you were, gone." Must say in a Newfie accent. Very hard to reproduce in writing.
Try this:
"Lord tunderin jaysus, buy; I turns 'rund an dere you was... gooone!"

hell's bells and panther tracks...from my grandmother to my mother to me

a variation of Adam's house cat: Adam's off ox (which I used to think was actually "aw fox" when I was a kid)

nervous as a cat in a room full of rockin' chairs
few sandwiches shy of a picnic

Oh Good Grief

41. "Oh, mice and rats"
useful when one can't swear and cool because Chatsworth Osborne, Junior used to say it on Dobie Gillis (one of my alltime fave shows).

"What an age we live in (Dobe)." Swiped from Maynard G. Krebs, also of Dobie Gillis.

"Oh my stars and garters" (swiped from the Beast in old X-Men comics)

"Great googly-moogly" - a Zappaism
"Great boogity-woogity" - teenage pal's revision of said Zappaism

"Well I'll be dipped in dogshit" when frustrated/surprised, from Fat Freddy in the Freak Brothers

52. F*ck me! (in a kinda whispered voice) - (from The Wall)
Which I say (to myself usually) all the time. It's from the "The Wall" movie, just as "Comfortably Numb" is starting. The Roger Rabbit dude says it when he find Geldoff all cut up and screwed up in his room. And then "he's an artist" is always in the back of my mind.

I spent innumeralbe hours creating a "Wall" soundtrack several years ago, so pretty much the entire movie is ingrained in my head. One of my favorite albums of all time, definitely better than the studio release.
