Another kitten has shown up |
|
I went out to put food out for my current porch resident, and there was a little orange kitten drinking out of the water bowl. Now, there was a litter of kittens (4 orange, 1 gray) that was born under my house, but those (with the exception of graybaby and Mommy) have gone to be adopted.
This new feline is way too small to be one of them, and when MommaKitty heard the door open, she came up the steps. Little orange (guy?) arched up and started hissing, then ran and hid under my car.
I don't keep food out all of the time, I'm not trying to feed every stray out there. Not to mention that raccoon that we've run off several times...he can find his own damn food.
I just go out there every now and then and put a handful or two in a bowl, my porch dwellers come and eat, then curl up and sleep.
Do they spread the word? "Go to that house, they'll feed you!"

A little orange kitten wandered out of a field near the store I work at. He was just skin and bones.
Needless to say we took him in. It has been a week now and Murton (named for a ChiCub w/ bright red hair) is looking very healthy and prompting our other two cats to play pretty much all day.
Yeah, somehow those lil critters know just who to find!

but came back for the food. I can't bring it in...two of my cats don't do outsiders.

3. Oh yes, they have a hotline running. Every stray |

cat in Tullahoma, TN knows all about my daughter. She feeds four strays and just picked up another who gave her 4 kittens. The opossum is now bringing her baby with her. Her cat chow bill must be astronomical.

The last place we lived, my husband started feeding one, and it became three. All female, all had kittens. One had her kittens somewhere else, but brought me two that needed help. One had a bad eye infection, the other had a dislocated leg.
We fed no animals when we moved here, yet MommaKitty had five babies under my house. Now this little one is here. No mom around so far, no siblings.
