Forgive me, just watching the cricket. Nothing to see here.

1. Kick for kicking the Australians' arses! |
|
210-7 at close of play, follow-on target is 245. If the Aussies don't manage it tomorrow, I do hope the English don't elect to make the Australians follow on. Make the buggers chase a target of 500 or more...

2. are you just making this up? |
|
seriously, this is all a joke, right? see if you can get the colonists to bite on these absurd descriptions of a 'sport'?

4. There might be some Australians around here! |
|
There must be at least one. :D
Besides, have you ever actually stood back and observed how US sports appear to a disinterested eye?
Anyway, history is possibly being made here. The Australians have thrashed us in the Ashes for so long, and we're now level in the series and with the upper hand in this Test. This is important dammit! :)

a failed suicide squeeze leading into an inning-ending 6-4-3 double play? perfectly logical. :)
A third and five rifle from the quarterback to the tight end, who was stopped at the 5 by the cornerback, leading to another key red zone first down opportunity? eminently simple. :)

210 for 7 at close, Aussies in trouble. English first innings 444. As a yank, my cricket understanding is rudimentary, but I do enjoy it. I attended the 1993 Ashes at the Oval for a day and saw a one-day match at Old Trafford. Great fun, much drinking and confusion.

That's how we Americans like our sports. Works well in foreign policy as well.

13. Often you will hear commentators in all seriousness saying that |
|
England should pray for rain, which will stop play, meaning that the match cannot be completed in the five days and therefore England will get a draw. Instead of the deserved thrashing that we would (usually) otherwise get. ;)
What we are seeing from the England side these days is quite a reversal of fortune.
