11. Ok...
looks like 14 climb/decent pairs in 20 seconds...

that's 42 climb/decent pairs per minute...

4 steps up and 4 down for each climb/decent pair...

that's 336 steps per minute...

525,600 minutes in a year...

that's 176,601,600 steps per year

21. Oh crap!
My math was wrong. I counted 10 full cycles in 12 seconds, so it's about 400 steps/minute

24,000/hour
576,000/day
4,032,000/week
17,280,000/30 day month
210,024,000/standard year

20. 168,303,605 stairs per year
Edited on Fri Aug-12-05 03:25 PM by salvorhardin
15 frames at 0.10 seconds per frame = 1.5 seconds per trip.
31,556,926 seconds per year divided by 1.5 seconds = 21,037,951 trips
8 stairs per trip times 21,037,951 trips = 168,303,605 stairs per year.

26. I was close...
I measured 20 trips in 30 seconds, 320 stairs/minute, giving
168,192,000 stairs / year.

I buggered up my year the first time (and i'm still only using 24 hours * 365 days, which I know isn't totally accurate)

31. I used google to get the number of seconds in a year
Google will act like a pretty decent calculator and units converter.
Google on "1 year in seconds".

I'm not sure about the frame rate though. I opened the graphic up in Animation Shop and it didn't import the frame rate so I guessed at 10/100 of a second.

29. 7 pairs in 10 seconds for me...
so there are 4 stairs up and 4 stairs down.

8 stairs x 7 sets = 56 stairs
10 seconds x 6 = 1 minute

56 x 6 = 336 per minute

336 x 60 x 24 = 483,840 per day

483,840 x 365 = 176,601,600 per year

Did I do that right?

32. on my box
it takes 2 seconds to go up and down so I could that as one rep.
so 30 reps a minute
1800 reps a hour
43,200 reps a day
302,400 reps a week
15,768,000 reps a year. unless it is a leap year...

If you multiply that by the 8 steps in a rep.... you get the idea...

One tight ass on the stair master!
