Current TV Ads you Absolutely HATE!
Mine:

1. That stupid Subaru B9 ad where the car drives by and every other car dissolves into dust or something "old"

2. That annoying ad that shows cars being hurled into the desert and crashing into the ground. The commercial ends with some writer/designer tossing paper wads at a wastebasket.

BTW - when they produce ads like #2 above, does the film crew scour the area and clean up every last piece of trash they've used to defile the landscape?

woken up the biggest number of Americans.

I can fall asleep to some tv shows, but then that fucker shows up with his BILLY MAYS HERE bullshit.

Well, fuck you Mr. B Mays, I hate you, and anything you sell.

Edited on Fri Aug-12-05 06:01 PM by JonathanChance
Every year it is tradition for the Villains game to involve killing off annoying celebrities. They've made Carrot Top dial down the center with his face and did away with billy mays by forcing him to do a beer bong full of Oxy Clean.

5. I would imagine that they do.
Plus where do they get the money and the cars to do that with?

I hate all of the "Smiling Bob" commercials though I haven't seen it as of lately.

The "I'm your Venus, I'm your desire" shaving razor commercials.

Any shampoo commercial

Any body wash/ soap commercials

Any house disinfectant commercial, they make it seem like your house is just a cesspool of bacteria. I don't care otherwise.

Those Swiffer commercials, who the fuck would be so fascinated by a dust mop for cryin' out loud.

33. You should have seen the household products commercials in the late '60s-
early '70s.

Perfectly coiffed and made up women in perfect daytime dresses obseessing over grass stains on their KID's clothesand rust rings in the toilet.

What's sickening is that we seem to be slowly edging toward that genre again.

The house smells like a dog lives there! HORRORS! Fideaux should be seen and not smelled.

God forbid little Susie spills the cereal--get the Dustbuster NOW! OMG!

Any commercial where a woman tells you, "You want to have beautiful _______ (fill in the blank) like I do? Buy this product!" Yeah, like we're really going to find the same stuff she uses right there on the shelves at the local supermarket or department store.

"Start having a great life..." (I think that's how it goes), as the Kia is passed from one person to another.

I can't tell you how much I loathe that commercial.

On your #2, I haven't seen the ad in question, but is it possible it was done entirely with a computer and not actual cars in an actual desert?

19. Every Carls Jr. Adover the past 10 years
"If it doesnt get all over the place it doesn belong in your face" - zoom in of people eating hamburgers with ketchup dripping down their faces + amplified mastication noises = most annoying commercials of all time. And their newer campaigns "Don't bother me, I'm eating" and the one with Paris Hilton arent much better.

oh, and their food tastes like cold balls. (last time I checked anyway - its been about 6 years all things considered)

Disgustingly unfunny humor with a bunch of unsexy actors for a drug designed to enlarge your penis. And a never-ending terrible song!

Another ad I don't hate, but think is silly, is an add for a sleeping aid (can't remember the name). One of the side effects listed is "drowsiness." Drowsiness? I certainly hope so since it's a sleeping pill!

26. Those stupid body spray commercials
The ones with young couples. There's one with a guy and his buddy being obnoxious over football while their girlfriends are being passive-aggressive about their feelings. And there's another one where the guy and girl go camping and the girl is being...well...girly... in an irritating way (the implication is that he's a bad person for bringing her to a place where there might be *gasp* ANTS! and OWLS! and other OUTDOOR STUFF!)

And then at the end of these commercials the guy comes over and hugs the girl and all is forgiven because she smells his body spray.

I LOATHE these commercials. I don't think I've ever despised a set of commercials as much as these. I think they portray both men and women as vapid, brainless stereotypes, and I throw things at the TV when they come on.

28. I felt that way about the JCPenney ads for their "one day" sales.
The sales are always on a Saturday. The ads depicted a hapless, clueless man trying ineptly to care for children and failing at it. "Where's your mother?" he would say, followed by a shot of Mom happily shopping in peace at JCPenney.

The voiceover would say, "Don't worry, Dad! It's only one day!"

The implication is, of course, that women are shopaholics who can't be kept away from the one-day sale, and men are too stupid and clueless to care for their own children.
