My daughter is singing the Preamble to the Constitution
She's playing School House Rock, and I can hear her singing along with it. Right now it's my favorite song ever. :-)

Okay, back to the rest of DU. It's important to me, anyway.

1. Wow - those little songs are wonderful! It's how I learned to...
memorize the Peamble as well. School House Rock also made me understand politics (how a bill becomes a law), conjunctions, etc. I'm not exagerating when I say that I'm a more educated person because of School House Rock.

I'm so happy that the DVD's available now. I'm anxiously awaiting the time when I can buy it for several young family members! To be honest, I really want to buy it for myself as well!

(Conjunction junction, what's your function,....hmm..mm.mm.)

3. Thanks for the link, jobycom.
I didn't know that the episodes were back on ABC. I'll have to check them out!

4. Just make sure she adds "of the United States" after "We the People".
My son's teacher a few years ago told them that they shouldn't try to memorize the preamble using the Schoolhouse Rock version because it was wrong...no explanation, just that it was "wrong".

I went through it and the only thing missing is "of the United States" after "We the People"...that's it.

Why wouldn't a teacher take advantage of a learning tool like Schoolhouse Rock and just remind the kids to put the extra four words in?!?!?

6. Um, maybe because she's jealous that students learn
more from SchoolHouse Rock than from her.

I would just be thrilled that the kids knew the words to that instead of 'Smack My Bitch Up.'

7. I think that's very cool.
I loved School House Rock on Saturday mornings when I was a kid.
