2. Fascinating man
I love how they showed what a flawed person he was...as well as being a genius.

10. you're right, actually
it should have gone to Don Cheadle for Hotel Rwanda, but the Oscars are all about hype. Pttth.

13. I'm with ya.
Saw it in the theater. Seemed like there was a lot of unnecessary directorial masturbation going on. Read the liner notes to the "Ray" soundtrack, and it was pretty much confirmed.

Glad the ticket was free.

16. I thought he did great work..
and the film exceded my expectations.

Tom Cruise outacted Foxx by a mile in Collateral, though. I'm not sure why he got a nomination for that film.

But I gotta love Foxx. I'm a Texas girl and he's from Terrell.

12. As a 40 something with non-musically inclined parents...
it really made me see what a great man he was.
But I saw it when it first came out.

15. I bought the DVD....we watched it on the night the Oscars were on....
IMHO, it deserved all the Oscars it got....

Beautifully made, outstanding soundtrack, (naturally) great story!

I probably did cry at the end...I normally do, and it doesn't take much...but this was a profoundly moving movie...

I did also love "Hotel Rwanda" but for me, "Ray" was the superior film...

:kick:
