6. I think that might have been Phyllis Schlaffly (sp?) |
|
She has a gay son who supports her work.
I always like to use Phyliss as someone to jibe conservatives with - here you have a very conservative woman who worked against the equal rights amendment and then turned her attention to other things such as fighting against gay rights, and she has a gay son.
There are only two possible reasons why she has a gay son: 1. Homosexuality is indeed genetic, and that particular chromosome was switched to on in her son. 2. If homosexuality isn't genetic then in your view (conservative), Phyliss is a horrible parent and should probably have had her son taken away from her since it was obvious she wasn't raising him right - WHEN she was raising him what with her being out on the road all the time fighting against the ERA. In that case, Alan Keyes, Dick Cheney, Randall Terry, and a whole host of others are crappy parents as well.

8. I think she was a runner up. |
|

Let me check on that.
Yep, I was right. I thought she was a runner up the year Mary Ann Mobley won, and she was. She was second runner up.

10. I read up on her recently because... |
|
My boss plays trumpet for various gigs on the side, and Anita recently came back to her one horse hometown in Oklahoma (forget the name) for a day honoring her, and he was hired to be part of the band. He's conservative, but he's not too up on politics other than what he sees on the Drudge Report. He had an interesting time.
