What sounds do you hear right now?
I can hear my husband snoring on the couch behind me. I hear the rain fountain in the corner. Billie Holiday is singing "Stars Fell on Alabama."

What does it sound like at your place? Songs? Voices in your head? Share.

2. I'll play!
"Iron Chef" (the ingredient is Liver), the air conditioner, and the Arcade Fire on my itunes. I'm a multitasker.

Hey, the Korean lady beat the Iron Chef! Way to go.

5. The stupid clock ticking
Why the bleep does an electric clock have to tick? I wish they'd get rid of that annoying thing.

7. traffic out on the freeway; it's actually quite still...
...there is a slight breeze rustling the leaves outside my window and...now I can hear my kid brushing his teeth...
....wish I could hear the sound of my daughter pulling up in the driveway....she's out kinda late.

8. I used to live buy a freeway, and I'd keep the window open at night.
After a while I grew to love the sound. It starts to sound like ocean waves -- or it did to me.

Hope your daughter gets home soon :)

9. Vacuum Cleaner ...

It's 2am, and my upstairs neighbor is vacuuming. She does this obsessively, every damn night, for about five minutes. I think she's completely insane.

She drives up, every night, about midnight. She walks around for awhile, stomping apparently, then she vacuums. (I never heard my previous neighbor walking, and she was a large person.) In a few moments, if tradition holds true, I'll hear the sound of nails being hammered into the wall, or at least that's what I hope that pounding sound is. Every night, like clockwork.

Other than that, I can hear this faint tinkling bell attached to my cat, indicating he has arisen for his late night adventures under the bed and in the closet.
