Poll question: September 24th....are you going?
Just curious about a DU head count, the main discussion is home based in the DC state forum.

And here's what I'm talking about: http://www.brainshrub.com/dcdumeetup

2. kick.....
only because "voting" doesn't kick the thread automatically :)

Which is "hard work" if you're just looking for a head count :patriot:

3. Yes, I'm going.....
...may not do all the DU and protest events, but found such a good deal to visit DC, it was hard to refuse such a life block check. That is, visiting the nation's capitol at "off season" prices.

Check your favorite internet travel sites!

5. I hope so.
Parents are a tough sell but having an uncle in Arlington is a big help. Mom seems favorable, dad is a conservative -- so you know how he feels.

7. Not to worry, DC's still a lovely destination
for whatever the reason :patriot: And I have to admit, late September is the perfect time to visit, off season and weather friendly :)

My very conservative husband thinks I'm going for the museums (which happen to located on the National Mall...hee, hee).

10. Yeah, but I'm in middle school. A weekend trip with the whole family...
wouldn't be feasible. Though I'd love touring DC for a weekend, getting all the whole experience and my homework done in a weekend is quite unlikely.

So I'd most likely, if I go up, take a plane alone (yay!) to National or Dulles or that other name for it ;)...and call my uncle before the flight if plans work out.

15. Tell Mom that mom-type people who will look after you and be protective
of you are going...like MrsGrumpy. Tell her I've got a 15 year old, so you'll be okay. ;) :hi:

I hope you can make it SeanQuinn.

12. Take a look at UPJ and International Answer's website
I'm sure there are buses that will be travelling from Massachusetts to the protest even if you just go down for the day. I hate to see anyone who really wants to go to miss this protest because I think this one will be off the charts.

Hopefully you can find something that route and then meetup with some of us at the protest. Usually those buses just come in for the day and then leave that evening - but at least you would be there!

I just sense that kindred spirit with a wee bit of deviltry all wound up into 2 cheesehead moms wanting to kidnap the baby panda. I'm calling homeland security and having you 2 followed!

Can't wait to meet both of you!!

29. It would be such an interesting trip
But I have impending surgery and recovery soon, so I'll be watching it on C-SPAN instead. I hope some of the New Yorkers who protested at the RNC last year will be truckin' down with some of their great costumes, and I'll be lookin' for the DUers--hope some of you will carry signs as such! :patriot:
