On CBS, "America's Girl" (the pretty, teenage kidnap victim Elizabeth Smart) goes head-to-head against NBC's November Sweeps darling, Jessica Lynch. She, of course, is the pretty, teenage soldier whose daring rescue in Iraq "gave America hope."

Networks do what networks do. That includes airing high-profile, highly promotable docudramas, even when the events being dramatized are barely concluded (as with Lynch), or already told and retold to a point beyond familiarity (as with Smart).

So take your pick of feel-good sagas Sunday night at 9 p.m. EST.

Laura Regan plays Pfc. Jessica Lynch, the Army supply clerk whose 507th Maintenance Company convoy was ambushed in southern Iraq in March.

Jeeze, it's all so pathetic. At least Lynch is age of majority. So if I had a TV, I'd watch the Jessica story. She's a real hero, rather than a runaway, and the hero of the movie apparently is an Iraqi lawyer.
