I was just reminded
why I love the show Fullmetal Alchemist, the series that has always been referenced in my sig. I've seen the episode that was on tonight many times, and I love it every time.

The main character, Edward, encounters a soldier who has lost his leg in the "Ishbal War" (Ishbal just happens to be a Middle-Eastern-like country, where the people are ethnically different, and have a different religion from the main country. Also, the war is usually referred to as a massacre.) The old man refuses to get a prosthetic leg, because he says it's the price he paid for the horrible things he's done. Ed asks him about the soldiers who come home in one piece. The old man says that they lost something too, only you can't see it. He talks about how in a war, you lose your humanity and wall everything off.

Gods, I love this show...

1. Sounds like a good show...
I've never seen it, but I'll definitely keep an eye out for it, after reading that!
