How many of you went to a vigil last night? |
|
What were your experiences?
I went to one in Worcester, MA. There were between 100 and 120 people there. Lots of people honked their horns in support. I kept looking for cars w/ "Bush/Cheney" stickers as the cars drove by, but there were none. (I guess no one wants to admit to voting these clowns in.)
The MoveOn.org website says there were over 1600 vigils last night. If they all got 100 people at them... that's 160,000 people.... lighting candles in solidarity. Gotta love it.

I felt like complete shit. Pounding headache, upset stomach, etc. I ended up falling asleep on the sofa and didn't wake up until 10:30 or 11:00 :( I only planned on napping for 1/2 an hour or so, but I blew it.

5. I hope you're feeling better today. |
|
I ate some ice cream after the vigil, and ended up w/ the same symptoms. Ice cream is something I have to enjoy in VERY small amounts these days, or I end up sick.

I think it's mostly stress due to moving, I'll be done with that next weekend though, so hopefully I can get back to normal :) (whatever "normal" is).
Thanks for the well wishes! :hi:

Lincoln, Nebraska. We had about 150 people and we stood at a very busy intersection. There were MANY positive responses from people going by. And yes, a few Bushites (see my Funny Freeper Stories thread for details). We got really good coverage from the local ABC station. :)

We were on the pedestrian bridge over town lake. There were about 700-800 people. Very peaceful.
Check out the pictures from the local fishwrap: www.statesman.com

I got interviewed by the ABC affiliate, but they didn't use any of it on last night's newscast. x( You could still see us in the crowd shot, though.

I'm so glad I went. There were about 70 people at the church near my place where the closest one was in Chicago. It was so great...we sang, some people got up and spoke and we signed a petition supporting Cindy. The candles flickering in the breeze was especially nice.
Very inspiring.

It looks like a lot of people went, from the replies in GD! I know we had about 100 people in a town of 22,000! :)

14. There was one right outside my door last night |
|
In NYC - I couldn't get outside so I lined my window with candles in solidarity. There were about 40-50 people gathered from around 7:30-8:30, a few woman stuck it out until well after 9:00. There were teenagers and children. Beautiful sight.

Struggle4progress and dicksteele were there too, as was lex. Lex took the pics in the GD thread. :D But I didn't get to meet him. I didn't have any DU paraphernalia with me.
