1. Try Ommadawn
Oldfield's third album. Still a great piece of music 30 years later.

3. I prefer 'Incantations'
I love his take on the 'Song Of Hiawatha'.

Actually, I have a lot of his stuff. And I'm no fan of "new age", at all. I just like Oldfield.

12. I don't have The Killing Fields soundtrack...
I saw the movie and was surprised when I saw him credited because it didn't really sound like him; also don't have Complete MO and Essential MO compilations, got all the rest...and waiting for his Light and Shade CD next month...

14. Thanks for the reminder
I'll have to pull my box of cassettes out of the closet. It's been so many years since I listened to Mike Oldfield. I also have a Sally Oldfield tape that has some good songs. When I first started buying music, I bought only "new age" (before they called it so) because everything else, I could hear on the radio. Though once and a while they'd play it on the old WHFS and WGTB (DC area).

17. are there actually any "tubular bells" played on the album?
Officially they're called "orchestral chimes".

...and why'd he bend one into a pretzel for the front cover?
