Poll question: Kicking your own threads. How many kicks before you should be ashamed?
Edited on Thu Aug-18-05 12:15 PM by tk2kewl
if you really think your post is great, how many times should you kick it?

On edit:
While we're on the subject... kick this thread

1. Does a response to kick count as a kick?
Or does it only count if it's a response to yourself.

2. Nah... a response to a kick with a thanks doesn't count in my book

In any way shape or form. "Kicks" thread to top of forum list. Sometimes you are only doing it for that reason, so people write "kick."

You can kick'em as often as you like, say I. If people aren't responding, it becomes obvious.

5. Anyone with a sense of "shame" knows....
...that you can only kick your own thread 17 times.
Ann Landers and Gloria Vanderbuilt have done studies into this, and they both agree with me that 17 times is OK,
but 18 self-kicks is a little much, and can be interpreted as pushy.

7. I think there is no shame in kicking as long as the thread is
worthy.... (and that does rule some out...)

I try not to kick my own threads, but if you have something you think is worth saving and it is slowly slipping down the page then kickity kick.

But some piece of trivia... like this... nah! not worth it...
