Does this song remind you of another one? - (628kb download) |
|
This is a portion of a song (which is not mine), that sounds like another song (or two), but I can't put a button on it. Any ideas?

1. I know I'm probably not right in this, but it sounds like a portion |
|
of the soundtrack from Last of the Mohicans.
It is lovely.

I've never seen the movie, though there's a chance I've heard the music from it. Thanks :)

7. Well, yeah that's in the track tag, but |
|
I think the supposedly original song "borrows too heavily" from another one.

the link has a bunch of people discussing it-and there was more shit on the internets about it-it did not sound at all familiar to me, and I have a broad range of music in my pea-brain

I'm not trying to promote the song at all. My question is an honest one. This song is planned to be featured in an upcoming music production software release (Image-Line's FL Studio 6). I'm on the staff of Imageline, and am trying to avoid any potential embarassment by getting to the bottom of this. I've never played a C64, so it doesn't make sense that I'm familiar with the song in that form.
edit: you were thinking that "greyl" is a variation on "Glyn R Brown"?

I really just meant what I said-I listen to a great deal of different kinds of music, and that piece in no way struck a familiarity chord in me...I did not catch or take on the 'heavily borrowed' line til you answered me!

I misunderstood that you meant "you understand" when you said "gotcha", not "I've caught you". :)
