Diaper Device Causes Post Office Security Scare
<snip>

A DEVICE designed to detect nappy moisture touched off an alarm in a German post office overnight when it began to tick, police said.

"Instead of emitting a luminous signal, it began ticking in a parcel, and the post office employees thought it might have been a bomb," said Rainer Kuhmann, a spokesman for the police in Heilbronn, southwest Germany.

Police called off the scare after contacting the sender.
