Update on Daddy
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=105x3873922

He's much better. He has finally eaten a little, and is moving a little better. He spent most of the night cuddled up next to me. He seems very skinny - amazing how quickly an injured cat will lose weight.

He is taking his pills like a trooper! And he wants to go out, which is verboten until Sunday at least.

For those who offered their good thoughts, thanks. Since I got treatment for him it wasn't that serious, honestly, but you know me and my cats.

1. Wow. I'm glad he's eating and moving a little, bertha.

 We went through that this past winter with Ginger, and he was the aggressor, too: his first and only fight ever. He attacked my mother-in-law's cat, who was picking on Ginger's brother. (Scared me a great deal more than it scared Ginger, and off I went to the vet, with both Ginger and my mother-in-law's cat.)

I'll keep sending good vibes to your boy . . . and to you.

2. I'm glad he's better
Just tell him not to be such a little red neck but instead he should be a cat of peace. That's what I tell Pad Thai all the time, oh well, they never listen anyway!

Perhaps his ego hurt worst of all, poor guy. Glad you can give him pills easily. The kitties and I all send you our best.

10. thank you, FY
 to you :pals:

(He usually resists pills - he'll probably resist more vehemently as he gets better.)

8. I'm glad to hear he's getting better.
Whenever our pets hurt it's hard to go through, even if it isn't serious.

16. It's a Chihuahua
I found it when I was googling for an image of one, and I thought it would make a cute av. :) It was already the perfect size.

9. Yay! Glad to hear it...
our Tommy is a fighter, unfortunately (and he's getting up there, too, at 11 kitty years - he's not as quick as he used to be). Last time we didn't find too many wounds but his neck area was swollen. Later we found a cat claw embedded under his arm, so it must have been lymph swelling. Tommy's an indoor boy now, mostly b/c we live close to a road (though if we get our new house, he'll have 3 acres on a mountainside to frolic thru).

Before I met my husband, he was of the "don't neuter" mentality, until Tommy came home one day with his guts hanging out. Robert (husband) rinsed Tommy's innards off with saline, sewed him up (R's had a lot of first aid/emergency care training) and took him to the vet, who said she wouldn't treat him unless Robert agreed to get Tommy neutered. Unethical of her, but effective. If Tommy hadn't been snipped, I know he wouldn't be here today, and he's the biggest lump of orange tabby kitty love I've ever known.

Daddy's got a great face - that photo of him with the dog is priceless!
