I am 0 for 2 in the dating department this week
Or perhaps I should say 2 for 2 in the freeper department. Just got off the phone with one guy who was on his way to the Franklin Graham Bamboozlepallozza tour. He apparently also has swallowed the Bush Kool-Aid re: reasons for war. Or maybe it is the Limbaugh Lies. We argued on the phone a little about the weapons inspectors. He said that Saddam was not complying and that's why we went to war. I said that the inspectors were there, had found nothing but were not allowed by the Bushies to finish the job. Blah, blah, blah. His line on Cindy Sheehan was that if the President met with her, he would have to meet with all the rest. I said he should since he was responsible for their deaths. I haven't even met this guy yet and am not sure I want to at all. But it has been a very long dry spell and most people in this town seem to be freepers. A bigger problem for me is the religion thing, more so than politics. I am not religious. I consider myself an atheist, I even put that in my ads. I state flatout that I am liberal, nonreligious, not interested in having children and still I end up meeting these guys who are almost exactly the opposite. Can they not read? Do they hope to "convert" me??

The other one I met earlier this week is not really a freeper; he seems to at least think for himself evenif he is very pro-corporate. I went on a (drunken) rant about socialized medicine last night.

Oh well. There are many other fish in the sea.

1. They can read they just don't comprehend. And God Bless you.
Can you tell I'm a guy? Yep, no comprehension.

2. Feh
I'm also liberal (of course) and not interested in having children (got the big V four years ago). I have put personal ads on telephone systems stating plainly what I wanted - someone with no kids, non-smoking, etc., and in a day, I have to waste the minutes I've bought to check my new messages from women who smoke and also have four kids. Online personal ads are the same way. I have to frequently ask people who send me emails if they've actually read my profile as I definitely state no kids and not interested in having them as the person contacting me will no doubt have listed that she either has or wants lots of kids.

It got so bad, I created my own free personals ad website at http://cfpersonals.com for other childfree people to go. Go check it out. It's a crappy design that I'm going to try to change later on, but it's got a lot of search functionality on it.

Match.com and Yahoo Personals also allow for searches with no kids/doesn't want them options.

3. I feel your pain
The closest connection I've made recently was with a woman who was already involved in a relationship, it was fun to flirt though. I'm agnostic and in the Bible Belt, and I'm SO sick of dating christ-freaks (no offense to any christians). I've only had one date in the past few months, fortunately with a moderate non-judgmental catholic, and I got her thinking about the concept of a "just god" who would roast his children in hell.

A lot of christians do try and "convert" people they date, mainly by making them go to church with them. I don't want to sound closed-minded but it's best to just stay away from those type of people entirely. I've become upfront about my political beliefs, and good for you that you are too. I've encountered nothing but pain in the past by dating "opposites" so now I just cut them out entirely.

6. I think I'll rework the ad a little
I know that I check the boxes for political affiliation and religion but I am not sure anyone reads those. When I am perusing ads, I always check but a lot of people check the box for "I'll tell you later" or something so you can't really tell.

7. I think religion is a deal-breaker
Unless the person is willing to live and let live. I am; I could care less what someone believes. But if it is really important to the other person, I have to be upfront about my lack of belief.

5. Don't settle for these losers.
Or should that be "Loosers"? That would be a "HUGH" mistake!

(I was lovin' the moran/moron thread)...
