why do so many places set their AC too cold? |
|
hot 90+ day and I walk into the store to pay for my gas and it's 50 degrees inside! The clerk is even wearing a sweater...With my clothes damp from sweat I actually start to shiver!
I've seen this more than once this summer!

1. Ever try and get cooler if it's not low enough ? |
|
People who want warmer can bundle up. There's no equiavalent technique for doing the opposite - baring nudity.
Plus, heat is increased when the interior is exposed to the outside, such as opening doors.

I deal with this daily with my boss. We work in a place that has many heaters going all the time but he sets it at 69. I can tell you when I get off lunch and have to walk through the non-ac parts my glasses fog up.
I always turn it up to 74 when he is outta the room...LOL.

We couldn't work together. :D I have other co-workers who run heaters under their desks, but it's already 78 DEGREES inside our office!!!

7. I deal with this at work too! |
|
I mean people in the office wear sweaters too even when it's not that hot out! Whenever I mention the coolness they say it's broken but it's been that way for years, it never gets fixed...
And welcome to DU, skiptomidew!:toast:

9. We print tee-shirts so we have huge heat processing. |
|
The spot heaters run at around 3000% and the curing ovens run around 1000%.
So it is a very, very hot environment if not checked. The heat kept burning out the motors that ran the ovens.
It is cool now that we have some AC. But it still can't keep up with the temps. It runs all day even if its 70 outside.
Thanks for the welcome Tom!!!

I work in a dept. store and customers/coworkers complain about it being cold all day long. I never feel too cold but I guess that's because I'm wearing a suit-jacket..?
One day it was too warm and I felt that..it was gross. Better cold than too warm for me cause I have to do alot of moving and walking around..

I thought I was just a freak (although my friend Paula often is too cold in many places as well). I used to be ok or even a bit warm in places but now I freeze my buns off in places because they have their AC set on deep-freeze. It is absolutely crazy!
