6. How about THIS one? It will be a little more difficult...
Edited on Sat Aug-20-05 08:13 AM by Clintmax

This one is going to be impossible I realized...its Ostia Antiqua, Italy. The port city of Rome. You're seeing the remains of the walls of buildings and the nearly intact amiptheater of the city!

The Opera House in the lower left (and just above it Government House), the Harbour Bridge in the lower center.

It's easy if you know the answer (and certainly a damn sight easier than Ostia) :P

20. Yes - that's the Thames on the right
With the centre of British government and politics just to the left of it.

19. Correct - well technically it's the City of Westminster
But that's me putting my ultra-pedantic hat on.

The orange triangle on the left is the courtyard in front of Buckingham Palace, where the Victoria memorial is. The road going up n.e. from that is The Mall which goes to Trafalgar Square (with the two round blue pools in) - the National Gallery being at the north edge of that.

Coming south from Trafalgar Square is Whitehall which houses several government departments - the four parallel blue-green roofs are the Ministry of Defence, on the opposite side of the road the building with the circular courtyard is the Treasury - next to that the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, next to that Downing Street.

Right at the south of Whitehall is Parliament Square (it looks yellow here - I guess that this was in summer, and so the grass wasn't in top condition. To the right of this is the Palace of Westminster (which houses Parliament), and below it is Westminster Abbey.

The large yellow-green part is St. James' Park - and to the right of that (the two yellow shapes separated by a thin red line) is Horse Guards Parade (which is mostly used as a car-park for civil servants, turned into a parade arena for Trooping the Colour, and will be used for beach volley-ball during the London olympics).

Now as it's after 3 p.m. - I need to go and shower and dress.
