2. I know what you mean.
I like "Cat Scratch Fever" and "Wango Tango" myself.

But "Stranglehold" sucks.

3. We might be the only two DUers here
that like a Ted Nugent song. Let's find out. Lets start a thread proposing a group for DUers who like a Ted Nugent song. We could call it the Nuge Recovery Group.

11. Great White Buffalo actually has a decent lyrical message.
It's not entirely historically accurate of course, as far as the story of the White Buffalo, but the part about hunting for what you need vs killing just for the sake of killing is pretty much right on.

Makes you wonder if Nugent actually wrote the song, since it's so much different from his usual topics of misogyny and right wing horseshit.

13. Yeah and it's got a killer guitar riff
I always liked the music to that song and the fact that it had a cool lyrical message just made it all the better.

5. Time to evoke that "Wayne's World II" quote:
Exqueese me? Have I seen this one before? "Frampton Comes Alive"? Everybody in the world has Frampton Comes Alive. If you lived in the suburbs you were issued it. It came in the mail with samples of "Tide".

If you lived in the suburbs, you were also issued THIS one:

...and Terrible Ted has been milking its success for the last 30 years.

6. Wasn't there some song about a queen of the forest
or something? I kind of liked that one. But, really, Ted's a first-class jerk. He comes up here and performs at our state fair periodically (and probably goes out and kills a bunch of stuff while he's up here) and makes a complete ass of himself. I can't stand him.

7. How dare you raise that subject matter on DU.
I didn't want to think about it or hear about it.

I'm very disappointed.

Why? Why?

8. Derek St. Holmes
All of Nugent’s platinum albums feature Derek St. Holmes on vocals.

Remember the last time you took out your Ted Nugent or Cat Scratch Fever albums. Think about listening to Stranglehold, Hey Baby, Got To Live It Up or Death By Misadventure. These songs, and many more in the Nugent catalog, bring to mind two things: Ted’s guitar heroics and the vocals of Derek St. Holmes.

It became all about Ted Nugent, nothing about us. There were no pictures of us, there were no interviews with us. And here I am doing all the singing.

9. Huh?
I guess Nugent was successful in hogging the spot light. I thought he did all the singing as well as lead guitar. Who sings for him now?

10. He sings a lot of his own stuff,
but his voice isn't great, so his more famous records also featured Derek St. Holmes and Meatloaf on lead vocals.
