More annoying in restaurants: babies or noises made for baby? |
|
Sometimes I'm not sure which is worse. The noises a baby makes, or the noises the babies' parents/grandparents make to feed, quiet or entertain the baby. Sometimes the adults are even louder and more annoying. It really drives me nuts sometimes. "goo goo gaga, isn't she cute! Open wide!"
I haven't been to the lounge in a while so I thought I would write about a classic flame topic.

1. Don't like noise anywhere |

babies or baby-clucking. I especially hate it when people bring toddlers and babies into R rated moves in theaters and then just sit there while their offspring ruin the movie.

that going out to a restaurant was how adults got AWAY from babies. No longer.
These days, with all the parents who were never parented in the first place, we're living in a time where there are no standards of behavior.
The (alleged) adults definitely gall me more. They want to act like there's something wrong with YOU if you don't think that their toddler, which they are not watching, and has wandered over to your table and started grabbing things is the cutest thing on the face of the planet. I know it's not the kid's fault, but I'm not there to babysit their kid.
If parents won't grow up, neither will their kids.

6. Went to a restaurant last week... |

And I couldn't decide who was louder and more annoying. Little Eli, who wouldn't shut the hell up, or his mother, who wouldn't shut the hell up about how "cute" he was.
I was in the restaurant about an hour and these people were there before me. The mother had a slice of pizza and hadn't finished it by the time we left because all the kid had to do was scream and the mother came rushing to his side to coddle him.
Posterchildren for BAD parenting.

The adults are supposed to be...adults. Act like it. A baby doesn't know any better. Try feeding the kid, or stick a pacifier in his/her mouth or something. But for crying out loud, act like an adult. I am of the belief that we should use our everyday speech around babies. After all, parents are supposed to be the no. 1 influence on their children.
