Just got a birthday present.

It's my birthday "eve" and Miz t. always gives me one present then.
We tend to stretch birthday celebrations out as long as possible.

It's a "Paragon Survival Light-radio-siren-flasher".
Powered by either AAs, a plug-in AC-DC converter, or...get this...a hand crank that recharges built-in batteries.

At first I thought it was kid of dinky, but the more I play around with it, the better I like it. It's actually kind of cool, and very handy.

I'm listening to NPR on it now, and the sound quality for a gadget like this is surprisingly good.

Found the Paragon website www.paragondesign.com but they don't have a picture of this.
Oh well. Pretty neat, anyway.
