5. It's my addiction too
Edited on Sun Aug-21-05 07:45 PM by DemGirl7
There is this Dunkin' Donuts by my job, and I go there so often they know me by name, and ask what flavor. I'm always drinking an Iced Coffee, heck I make my own at home so I can have some when I'm not working.

10. It's worth trying at this time of year
It doesn't exactly slake your thirst, but it's cold and if you like black coffee, it's gooooood. :D

3. Back in the days when I still drank coffee, I loved iced coffee....
I remember in June of 1988 visiting the Kailua Kona coast of Hawaii...where great coffee is grown...and having a wonderful glass of iced Kona.

But I just cannot drink it anymore. No stomach problems or anything...just lost the taste for it. I still drink tea, though.

11. Sitting on the Hawaiian coast sipping an iced Kona sounds fantastic
The only time I prefer tea over coffee is when backpacking--tea is just better suited for the relaxed mood of vacationing and the outdoors, I guess. :D

7. I resisted for so long... Coolatta...just like Kahlua...
I didn't have iced coffee for many years because I thought it was stupid and thought it would be gross.

Now I love it. LOVE IT!! Iced lattes, iced coffee, coolattas...

As I've mentioned elsewhere, Coolattas make me feel all subversive at work because they taste kind of alcoholic in a Kahlua or mudslide-ish way.

8. It's an abomination
I like coffee hot and black. Tea on the other hand should be served with ice and lots of sugar.

But I can't remember the last time I drank coffee. Probably some time last winter. I don't have any coffee in the house now.

I'm giving up caffiene as soon as I run out of Diet Coke, though. I guess I could drink decaf, but I don't like the taste of coffee enough to do that.

18. We would seem to be diametrically opposed on this issue
I like my tea hot and black (and pretty strong). I can't drink coffee, though, unless it's done like Vietnamese iced coffee, with the sweetened condensed milk. Coffee ice cream is nice, too. Straight coffee makes me retch, though.

I'll have iced tea sometimes, but with no sugar or lemon or anything else -- just strong tea ice cold.

14. You know, every now and then, a plain black iced coffee is good.
Plain black iced coffee seesm to have fallen out of vogue.

I do like lattes, but I only drink them hot. I do not drink any iced lattes or mochas.

Generally, I drink black coffee at work, but I will do some of those spiced-up Starbucks drinks on occasion. It has to be hot, though.

Actually, there are many better Tom Wolfe books - I'd stick with the earlier ones... he is great at skewering various cultural obsessions.

21. I got hooked last summer after I had my wisdom teeth out.
It was difficult for me to drink hot beverages, so I started icing my coffee.

I usually have one a day at work in the morning during the summer.

1 cream, 1 sugar, fill a water glass with ice and fill with hot coffee. Delicious.

However, my girlfriend can't get going in the morning without some iced coffee. In fact, she brought her own coffee-making materials when she came to visit last week (I had to supply the CoffeeMate Sugar Free French Vanilla, though).

26. I drink a 50% caffeinated blend with milk on ice all day long
in warm months. NO SWEETENER, though.... Can't stand that, since it would make me hungry. Iced coffee with 2%MILK (yeah, I know, I should go skim) actually keeps hunger at bay.

Best blend? Sorry Starbucks bashers, but GAZEBO BLEND can't be beat...

And they serve it so elegantly: in a tall glass with little containers of cream and sugar water.

29. mmmmmm.
The morning's coffee (French-pressed) becomes the evening's iced coffee. Served with some chocolate milk and ice to chill it out.

Or go get a ice-blended mocha....equally as delectable.

quality, freshly ground beans and a French coffee press chilled for hours to perfection with just a smidge of sugar, ice, and fresh cream. In the real world, whatever's quickest with Sugar Free French Vanilla creamer.

I LOVE iced coffee!!!! :loveya:

instant coffee and cold milk, with a little sugar if you want it - simple.

I'm not normally an instant coffee person (espresso or filter every time) but for iced coffee I'll make an exception.

43. It's the taste and caffeine that counts.
I prefer hot black and sweet, but at the end of the day, coffee is coffee. The stuff of live, the warm hug in the morning, the only substance on earth that makes life worth the work.
