Any Bjork Fans?
ce a month. My feeling is either you get Bjork or ya don't. Especially "Birthday". What's your favorite tune. And what do you think of "Medulla:?

1. you bet'cha...
"Hyper Ballad"

we live on a mountain
right at the top
there's a beautiful view
from the top of the mountain
every morning i walk towards the edge
and throw little things off
like:
car-parts, bottles and cutlery
or whatever i find lying around

it's become a habit
a way
to start the day

i go through this
before you wake up
so i can feel happier
to be safe up here with you

it's real early morning
no-one is awake
i'm back at my cliff
still throwing things off
i listen to the sounds they make
on their way down
i follow with my eyes 'til they crash
imagine what my body would sound like
slamming against those rocks

and when it lands
will my eyes
be closed or open?

i'll go through all this
before you wake up
so i can feel happier
to be safe up here with you

3. Have you checked out her DVD?
I think it's called something like ""The History of Bjork"? It's pretty cool.

4. seen some of it, her live stuff at various rock...
& jazz festivals & such fully blows out the jams, seen her on leno doing 'oh so quite' & she was spell-binding, fantastic back-up musicians as well, highly musical & progressive

"Human Behaviour"

If you ever get close to a human
and human behaviour
be ready to get confused

there's definitely no logic
to human behaviour
but yet so irresistible

there is no map
to human behaviour

they're terribly moody
then all of a sudden turn happy
but, oh, to get involved in the exchange
of human emotions is ever so satisfying

there's no map and
a compass
wouldn't help at all

human behaviour

8. Definitely "Birthday" - I still remember the first time I heard it - that
voice. Have you seen "Dancer in the Dark"? If not, just be "up" for it - it's intense.

10. Ya mean "Just be down for it."
One of the most depressing movies I've ever seen. I had to stop it before I knew Bjork was gonna get fried. That's how much I adore her.

12. Yeah, I was really bothered for a while after watching it.
I've rented "Hotel Rwanda" two or three times, but haven't watched it. Not up/down enough.

13. My dad sad it was great!
And he has pretty good taste in movies. For an 80-year old, he's very cool. He calls himself an independant, but he voted to Clinton twice and for Kerry. He absolutely hates the Chimp.

14. That's always good news to hear. My stepfather - late 60s,
librul Korean War vet - said pretty much the same thing. But was pretty dismayed by "humanity," or "inhumanity" I should say. I say this half-jokingly, but I'm still in recovery from "Million Dollar Baby" - that one really got to me!

17. Hilary Swank, Clint Eastwood, and Morgan Freeman as...
Edited on Mon Aug-22-05 11:41 AM by TWriterD
aspiring boxer, gym owner/reluctant trainer, and former boxer/friend/gym manager, respectively. Doesn't sound like much, but it works. It's not flashy, but a story-telling movie with emphasis on inter-personal relationships, faith, drive, loss, etc. The ending is incredibly intense (have tissue handy!), but uplifting.

15. I think she has an exquisite voice that defies categorization.
I also feel that she's a brilliant and daring artist. Her song writing, the orchestrations of her music...gorgeous, delicious, sad beautiful--I LOVE her work.

Medulla is nothing short of genius...At the same time, I feel my words somehow under rate her work. As it goes beyond mere words.

I was more than a little irritated that people went on, and ON about what she wore that year to the Academy Awards. It was obvious that they just didn't 'get' Bjork and her fashion statement was 'anti-fashion, anti-red carpet' and all the bullshit of 'who are you wearing. No one took into consideration that she just didn't give a damn about their silly fashion show...:eyes:

18. I really liked Debut a lot
And liked several of the songs on Post (that was her second solo album, right?).

But after that, she kind of lost me.
