More Six Feet Under: Favorite "death"
Mine has to be the one when the wife smacks her asshole husband across the head with the frying pan.

1. Mine was during the first season, I think, when the
dot.com guy, up to his neck in loans, dives into his pool, forgetting it was the shallow end. Oops!

11. The rapture one is the absolute best
with the woman who gets her head smacked off while standing out through the moonroof of her limo.

13. What I loved about these deaths is it never the person you guess will die
Each week when they showed the first person dying, I would always THINK I can pick out who will buy it but I never do

12. I missed that one ...
but saw it on the pre-finale show.

I missed the whole 4th season and the start of this one. (didn't have HBO until a month ago and watched the other ones on DVD)

But that was a scream!

Great ending too --- Nate on the dead biker's hog to the tune of "Don't Fear the Reaper."

Classic.

14. The Frying Pan Death...
that's what I was going to say before I even clicked on this thread. Good choice.

My next favorite death was when the woman thought the floating helium-filled sex-toy balloons was the "Rapture" so she stopped her car and carelessly walked out into oncoming traffic.

Then there's that "blue ice" death that was pretty freaky.

It happened on a cops episode a few years back. But the guy didn't die and his wife was a he not a she.

16. The mysterious lady who choked and seemed to have no one who knew her
No one comes to her funeral, so Ruth makes the family attend, at which "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going" is played, and Nate imagines it as a rock number as an outlet for his fears about his brain. Later, he comments that he felt somehow the lady "won"--she remained an enigma right till the end. Very thought provoking, and a biting comment on modern anomie and isolation.

I also liked the gay guy who died quietly of AIDS complications, sitting next to his partner while they were having a big gathering of friends, eating and drinking and laughing while watching a funny TV show. (Kind of the flip side to the previous one.)

20. The little brother who found a gun.
Edited on Mon Aug-22-05 02:33 PM by Touchdown
Considering that I'm still emotional over the finale, I chose the most heart wrenching, unfunny death on the show. It was hard to take, especially since it was a recurring character's little brother. Other hard ones.

The gay bashing in season 1
The poor lonely woman who died weeks ago, with ants on her body.
George's mother.
The doormat, that gets assertive and her whack job husband pushes her into a fireplace brass thing (what are those things called, and what do they do?), impaling her. He says "Oh' no! Don't do this to ME!" after he kills her??? :wtf:

One funny one nobody mentioned yet was that bitch from the greedy mortuary corporation playing golf. She's demanding that her flunkie get that Fisher house, or she'll have his job. She doubles over...complains about eating italian, drives, yells "Damn! I sliced!" Cut to a woman reading a book on a park bench. She gets whacked on the side of the head with the bitch's ball. The dog just stares at her.
