Using semi colons was worse, till I realized that semi colons should go where the commas go about 1/12 the time.

So, I just use all semi colons in February and commas the rest of the year. :)

Its just a little habit (LOL) that I developed over the years (don't know how). Quick question (if you don't mind) for any punctuation experts (if there are any out there) - is it okay to use parenthesis within a parenthetical passage? (Just wondering as it seems to come up a lot and I'm not quite sure).
