A question regarding commemorative ribbons.

I was just watching CNN's Newsnight which had a piece on the effects of gas prices on your economy.

The central villain of the piece was a woman forced to cut down on her purchases. She now buys only what she needs.

Novel concept, I know.

She drove away from the store in her 2005 Denali SUV (there's a way to economize, hun) and I noted one of those ribbons on the side of her vehicle.

Now I don't see a lot of them, mostly pink for breast cancer. They're not common in Canada.

This one was blue. What might she be commemorating?

5. Blue ribbons are also sometimes used to denote
Bring Home Our Troops Sort of a backlash to the overload of yellow "Support our Troops" (i.e., support the war) ribbons that are out there.
