2. Here's mine
1. Both glasses and contacts (depending on my mood in the morning) both myopia and astigmatism.

2. I'm guessing that these are songs - in which case I shall have to display my lamentable lack of knowledge and pass on this one.

3. A cricket one day international England-Bangladesh (we trounced them)

4. Two, one incredibly peaceful one had a few ratty bits with the police on the edges.

5. At my desk, reading LynneSin's 10 random questions on 25 August.

6. The ability to turn any compliment directed at me into a pretty hefty insult.

7. No - they pretty much don't exist in the U.K.

8. In the cinema I've never watched a film more than once (not much of a cinema goer).

9. it summarises the wicked thoughts that I have most of the time.

10. No - I'm not big on material possessions, but have a number of sentimental objects that I'm not giving up any time.

3. Here are mine

  1. Do you wear glasses and if so for what vision correction? : I wear glasses for being nearsighted. Most days I wear glasses but for special events I have contacts
  2. Stairway to Heaven or Freebird? Discuss: Actually I hate both of these songs. I asked this since they are suppose to be the 2 most requested songs on the radio
  3. What's the first professional sporting event you ever attended? : August 1977 I went to Philadelphia to see the Phillies vs. the Reds. I'm actually a Reds fan and George Foster hit a gram slam homer to win the game
  4. How many organized protests have you attended in your lifetime? : SInce Bush has stolen the White House I've been to 20 various forms of protests in NYC, DC, Philly and my home state of Delaware
  5. Where were you when you heard that Paul Wellstone had died in a plane crash? How did you find out that information : I was heading down to DC with DUer RBNYC and we were somewhere on the B-W Parkway. We got the call from Will Pitt who was also heading down to the DC protest and I had RBNYC answer the phone since I was driving. The way RBNYC was reacting I thought maybe Will was in a car accident. Turns out he was telling us to turn on the radio to hear the news about Paul. I ended up getting massivily lost in DC because I was so upset
  6. What bizarre talent do you have? : I can dislocated my shoulder on demand
  7. When you were a kid did your parents send you off to camp? What kind was it? : I went to a Methodist Church camp for every year but it wasn't very church-like. It got to the point that I would ask each year to go back because of all the fun we would have
  8. What one movie have you seen in the theaters more often then any others Pink Floyd's "The Wall" - Probably saw that at the midnight showing at least a dozen times
  9. What is your favorite smilie?
  10. If I gave you everything that I owned and asked for nothing in return, Would you do the same for me as I would for you? Nothing like rhetorical Blind Faith questions

9. Your Number Six
What bizarre talent do you have?: I can dislocate my shoulder on demand

This must be more common than I thought; I am able to to it, too. When I was a kid, I could wrap my arm around my head, which made an extremely spooky impression.

12. Mine
1. Do you wear glasses and if so for what vision correction?

I do, for nearsightedness. I'm about 20/80 in one eye, and 20/200+ in the other.

2. Stairway to Heaven or Freebird? Discuss

Stairway, if only because I learned to play the organ part.

3. What's the first professional sporting event you ever attended?

Cubs game, c. 1979.

4. How many organized protests have you attended in your lifetime?

Hm...between 5 and 10, I think. Most recently, the Aug. 17 vigil. I helped organize one -- a demonstration in front of then Rep. Mark Neumann's (R-WI-01) office to protest his signing of the Communications Decency Act.

5. Where were you when you heard that Paul Wellstone had died in a plane crash? How did you find out that information

I had gotten back to work from lunch, and saw a bunch of CNN breaking news e-mails, along with a couple of e-mails from friends with subjects along the lines of, "well, I guess they did take him out."

6. What bizarre talent do you have?

I can read faster than anyone I know.

7. When you were a kid did your parents send you off to camp? What kind was it?

One summer, I went away to Jewish camp. The rest of the time, it was day camp -- first, run by the park district; then, one run by the synagogue; finally, privately run day camps.

8. What one movie have you seen in the theaters more often then any others

I rarely see movies in the theaters more than once. (I did see a few twice in high school when I went with my friends to a sci-fi movie, and then I went again with my dad because my mom wouldn't go.) I have seen Rocky Horror a few times, so perhaps that counts.

9. What is your favorite smilie?

10. If I gave you everything that I owned and asked for nothing in return, Would you do the same for me as I would for you?

You wouldn't want it. Trust me.

20. Answers
# Do you wear glasses and if so for what vision correction?
Yes. I'm nearsighted and have astygmatism in both eyes.

# Stairway to Heaven or Freebird? Discuss
Neither. "Sex Bomb Baby!" by Flipper

# What's the first professional sporting event you ever attended?
MN North Stars vs. Buffalo Sabres, with my dad when I was 6, at the old Met Center in Bloomington MN-- which is now a parking lot for the Mall of America. The North Stars won, and I was hooked on pro hockey.

# How many organized protests have you attended in your lifetime?
Too many to count. Got arrested for an act of civil disobedience at one.

# Where were you when you heard that Paul Wellstone had died in a plane crash? How did you find out that information
Ouch, this one hits close to home, because I knew Paul Wellstone personally, back when he was a college professor. I was at work, checking the news online, and read the story. I had to leave for the day, and spent the rest of it at home crying. God, that was terrible.

# What bizarre talent do you have?
I can make up songs about anything or anybody off the top of my head, and the lyrics rhyme too!

# When you were a kid did your parents send you off to camp? What kind was it?
Never did camp. I grew up in a single-parent household and we didn't have much cash for that kind of thing.

# What one movie have you seen in the theaters more often then any others
I dunno. The original Star Wars movie, maybe?

# What is your favorite smilie?
:dunce:

# If I gave you everything that I owned and asked for nothing in return, Would you do the same for me as I would for you?
Only if Steve Winwood would take back his solo career from "Back in th e High Life" onward.

1 Do you wear glasses and if so for what vision correction?
Yeah, I'm myopic.

2 Stairway to Heaven or Freebird? Discuss
As loathsome as "Freebird" is, at least it doesn't feature Robert Plant's tinnitic caterwauling and Jimmy Page's insipid songwriting.

3 What's the first professional sporting event you ever attended?
A Reds game sometime in the late '70s.

4 How many organized protests have you attended in your lifetime?
Dunno. More than a dozen, fewer than a hundred.

5 Where were you when you heard that Paul Wellstone had died in a plane crash? How did you find out that information
I was at work; got the CNN breaking news email.

6 What bizarre talent do you have?
I wouldn't say that it's "bizarre." But I certainly can't talk about it here without getting my post deleted. There are a few people you could ask.

7 When you were a kid did your parents send you off to camp? What kind was it?
I went to a lame-ass summer camp in the woods one year. Yawn.

8 What one movie have you seen in the theaters more often then any others
Dunno. I usually don't do a lot of repeat theater business.

9 What is your favorite smilie?

10 If I gave you everything that I owned and asked for nothing in return, Would you do the same for me as I would for you?
Hell, no. I already sold your stuff for booze money.

God some of these are REALLY embarrassing!

-Do you wear glasses and if so for what vision correction?
Yes, partially for astigmatism (nearsightedness), and partially for my MS (headaches/blurred vision)

-Stairway to Heaven or Freebird? Discuss
Stairway, only because I f'ing hate Southern Fried Rock

-What's the first professional sporting event you ever attended?
Dallas Burn vs. DC in '96 or so. I hate sports. Soccer and hockey are the only two I can stand.

-How many organized protests have you attended in your lifetime?

-Where were you when you heard that Paul Wellstone had died in a plane crash? How did you find out that information
At home that night on TV, and I cried, knowing he'd been murdered.

-What bizarre talent do you have?
I can crook my right index finger in this strange way and pop my knuckle back and forth. It freaks people out.

-When you were a kid did your parents send you off to camp? What kind was it?
Yep, a daycamp, in summers of 77 and 78. Doublecreek Farm in Round Rock, Texas. I rode "the Big Green Monster" bus and sang "Bill Grogan's goat" onboard. Had a horse named Frank I used to bring apples to.

-What one movie have you seen in the theaters more often then any others
Erm....Karate Kid the summer it came out. I really liked it.

-What is your favorite smilie?
This guy -->

-If I gave you everything that I owned and asked for nothing in return, Would you do the same for me as I would for you?
Hell no. I'm a selfish twit.

43. Ten Answers to random questions...
Do you wear glasses and if so for what vision correction? Yes, I do. I have been wearing glasses for over 27 years. I am nearsighted and I have astigmatism.

Stairway to Heaven or Freebird? Discuss Stairway to Heaven. Even though it is one of a few Zeppelin songs I don't care if I never hear again, it's certainly preferable to Freebird, one of my most hated songs ever.

What's the first professional sporting event you ever attended? A Twins game.

How many organized protests have you attended in your lifetime? None.

Where were you when you heard that Paul Wellstone had died in a plane crash? How did you find out that information. I was at home, and my husband called me. Then my brother called me. My brother was especially upset.

What bizarre talent do you have? Hmmm. I don't think I have any talents I would consider bizarre.

When you were a kid did your parents send you off to camp? What kind was it? I went to Camp Fire Girls camp the summer after 4th grade, and I went to church camp the summer I turned 13.

What one movie have you seen in the theaters more often then any others? I don't know. There are a few I've seen twice in the theater, but I don't think I've ever seen a movie in the theater more than twice.

What is your favorite smilie? I don't have a favorite.

If I gave you everything that I owned and asked for nothing in return, Would you do the same for me as I would for you? I wouldn't ask for everything you owned. But yes, I would give as need dictated.

71. Hi!
No vision correction issues yet.

I like both Stairway to Heaven and Freebird.

I saw the Lions beat the Packers several years ago.

I've been to political rallies, but there's almost never any protest around here. I gotta get off my @$$.

I flipped through the channels and found out on FAUX. Then I saw CNN. Then I came to DU.

I know the name of every US Vice President.

No camping

I've only seen a few movies inb theatres, each only once.

;-)

Would I give you everything? I'd give a lot, but to give EVERYTHING sounds like a tall order.
