Ronald McDonald Kidnapped By Thieves

POLICE were last night looking for a 183cm tall statue of Ronald McDonald last seen in the back of a ute near the Bella Vista McDonalds restaurant.

One of the famous red and yellow statues was stolen from the Celebration Drive fast-food outlet by two men in a white ute about 10pm.
It was not known if the perpetrators had sought a ransom for the statue's safe return. Police confirmed last night that a search had begun and that the matter was being treated seriously.

"Those things aren't cheap," a police spokesman said.
