What is your favorite bone?
Coccyx for me. Any word that ends in "ccyx" is tops in my book. Plus it's fun to think of humans with tails.

13. Surgical removal,
a shave of the bone and the removal of an intervertebral disc. Followed by a shortening of the muscles and tendons on each side of the spine.

I hate when that happens.

And from, of all things, a frisbee-playing accident.

7. close, but . . . "funny bone isn't actually a bone at all"
.
.
.

But you knew that,

right?

"But your funny bone isn't actually a bone at all. Running down the inside part of your elbow is a nerve called the ulnar nerve. The ulnar nerve controls feeling in your fourth and fifth fingers. It's also one of the nerves that controls the movement of your wrist.

You get that funny feeling when the ulnar nerve is bumped against the humerus (say: hyoo-muh-rus), the long bone that starts at your elbow and goes up to your shoulder. Tapping your funny bone doesn't do any damage to your elbow, arm, or ulnar nerve. But it sure feels strange!"

I know

picky picky picky

. . . :silly: . . .

18. pisiform
it's a little bone in your wrist but I just love saying that word. Go on your pinky side and follow it all the way down to the part where your palm meets your wrist and feel that little knobby bone...thats your pisiform!
