I wonder if there are these yuggy bugs in the water here near SF... I want to start surfing, but now I'm afraid of parasites in my guts!

so my best guess is probably not...the water off SF is cold most of the year..if anything you just need to avoid surfing near storm drain outlets for the usual fecal bacteria that is close to those areas.
If you search the Surfrider site, they have water quality reports regularly for all California beaches
