And have not had one for 10 years, after 10 years of having one.
I've probably saved myself a million bucks.

|
But, I work in a bank so I can just run downstairs to cash a check.

|
I guess people just get used to doing things one way, I almost never pay for anything with a check anymore (except bills) I just use my card.

18. actually, it is a good way of discipline |
|
You know how much cash you have for the week and you dont spend it on stupid BS. I never use my credit card. I also dont carry all my cash around on me, I usually just take $20-$50 with me and leave the rest at home.
I dont see why all you people need ATM cards.

19. My mother only recently learned her PIN |
|
She never bothered with it before, and either spent money on credit or debit cards, or got cash-back at the supermarket. But we're moving to "chip and PIN" (which is a fruad prevention measure), and so she had to learn them all quickly.
I wouldn't say 'neaderthal' - mostly because Poodle-Boy's government has been implying similar things about folk in Britain (they are trying to end cash payment of state pensions and welfare benefits in favour of bank-transfer) - but also because if she's surviving perfectly, what's wrong with it
Personally, I hate getting cheques - it's the only time I have to go into a bank. I pay using cards, I get paid by bank transfer, I pay my credit-card bill over the internets, if I need to send money to my sisters or parents (for example) I have their account details logged on my on-line banking. I rarely carry more than £10 cash on me either.
