Iraqi Man Opens Pizzeria in Baghdad
Soldiers in Baghdad are able to get a taste of home, thanks to Walid Mahmoud. He owns a pizzeria in the Iraqi capital.

Most Iraqis have no idea what pizza is, and certainly wouldn't know how to make one. But Mahmoud has worked in a family-owned pizza shop in Rome. When the Americans came to town, he scrapped together enough money to open his own pizzeria. The Wall Street Journal reports on a good day he sells nearly 200 pizzas.

But orders can drop to a handful depending on terrorist activity. He hopes after the American soldiers leave, there will be enough contractors left behind who'll want a pizza-to-go.

3. The sad part is...
if every government and corporation had that mentality throughout the 90s instead of sanctions...

The entire mideast would be on its way to democracy.

5. If daddy Bush would have kicked out Saddam instead of licking his ...

we'd all have been better off today. But he allowed to let Saddam stay in power. I mean, when Hitler did his rampaging, we didn't allow him to stay power at the end. Because that's DUMB.

Worse, daddy Bush agreed to things which helped Saddam slaughter more of his own people; people who were expecting the US to help them. The US betrayed Iraq in 1991.

We also betrayed them the first time when we "helped" them by giving them the weapons of which we are now annihilating them and their relics of humanity for - right Rummy? x(

Is it of any surprise that the bulk of the Iraqi citizens despise us now?

Clinton's not to blame, though I agree the sanctions did far more to hurt the people than to hurt Saddam - that was a stupid move to make. But Daddy Bush is to blame. So are Reagan and Rummy for blindly teaming up with anybody just to counter the so-called "communist threat". :eyes: The cold war did more to destroy peoples' common sense than do anything that war is supposed to do...

But that was then. It's been 12 years since and I damn well disagreed with Dubya's indulgance of petty vengeance and lust for oil, especially when he said he'd use Iraqi oil to pay for it all but yet yet's still asking (and getting) double-digit billions based on fuzzy math. http://www.time.com/time/covers/1101031006/ (then find and click "Behind the Price")
