Probably be going to all of Central America, I would like to see the Mayan Ruins in Gautamala. Really, I want to see Costa Rica's diverse wildlife. Anybody got any tips for getting to/from Central America and what kind of budget I'll need?

1. Copan in Honduras is really neat too.
Honduras was not terribly friendly when I was there, lots of stopping and getting off the bus to be searched by little boys with big guns but we got there and it was an amazing site. They were not nearly done excavating it when I was there but had found some interesting things that we were not able to see. I would think it would be easier to travel in now but I don't know. It is a beautiful country and the people for the most part were very friendly.

5. Thanks for the info
Copan would be cool, but I think Tikal is where I'd go.

2. Belize is easy and beautiful. Airfare from Texas is reasonable.

3. Went to Belize for our honeymoon
we stayed at an eco-friendly small diving resort called the Haminasi near Hopkins Village. We took day trips thru the rainforest and to the border with Guatamala and climbed to the top of a Mayan temple called Xiunachunich. Also the snorkling/diving was amazing, like being inside an aquarium. The people are really friendly, and the exchange rates worked in our favor so our money went alot further Here are a few links:
