Weather Channel BS/hype in Gulf Shores, AL

Semi-hysterical, almost hyperventilating, wide-eyed, pony-tailed weather-gal:
"JUST LOOK AT THAT SURF OUT THERE. IT'S USUALLY LIKE A LAKE OUT THERE IN THE GULF, A LAKE! NOW LOOK AT IT. IT'S ROUGH OUT THERE FOLKS. THAT SURF IS AWESOME!!!"

I live here.
It's rarely "like a lake", although we sure don't get the Banzai Pipeline. Offshore sand bars tame the breakers.

Looks like fairly typical summer surf at the beach.
You'd be hard pressed to surf it.
Maybe a boogie board.

I've seen a lot rougher during a good sized thunderstorm.

over the top crazy bezerk about this storm. I don't want to belittle the dangers of weather, and this could be devastating....but ...come on!!!!!
