Did New Orleans survive the Hurricane?
I hope so. When we have the second Civil War us northerners were going to use it as our Gem conqured city like Alexander or Macedonia used Babylon.
;)

12. No shit and they are saying that she will be the next Hurricane
Betsy. Go google Hurricane Betsy (1965) and see what she did to New Orleans and the neighboring areas.

Here pressure is dropping which is a bad sign and she may hit at hide tide which is really bad if she has a storm surge of 18 feet. :scared:

She is no joke. :-(

16. new orleans will sustain catastrophic damage if the models are right
and there is pretty overwhelming agreement on a track that takes a direct shot at New Orleans or within 20 miles east... which could really be equally as bad for NO due to the angle of the storm surge. Either way... I feel as though New Orleans will probably be destroyed.

20. It is one scarey storm.
If it is a Betsy, and goes inland as Betsy did, New Orleans and the MS Gulf Coast will see devastation. I may have a casino barge in my back yard. :freak:

23. Steve Gregory says that she will be worse than Betsy.
(cut and paste from his blog @ weatherunderground)

For now, however, the assumption must be
made that this storm will hit the coast with full CAT 4 force around 12 noon on Monday -- and New Orleans will likely
suffer the worst damage it haas seen in the past 100 years.
