19. Yep, that is a constant F3-F4.
Last year in Orlando for the hurricanes, they issued tornado warnings, because they knew we would be facing tornado strength winds.

20. YIKES, just yikes. I've been in tornadoes, so I have some empathy.
For those in Katrina's path, prayers for your safety.

6. I know you don't like GD around here, but "over there" someone
posted important info about pets. The Humane Society will be overwhelmed and if you leave your pet, it will likely be destroyed very early due to overcrowding! Take your pet--or, failing that, put a collar on him/her so someone can find you. (microchips are good too--too late now tho')There is a list of pet friendly hotels there too.

8. I'd never leave my pet in an area with immenent disaster on its way
What kind of people would do that in the first place?

My cat looks to me for sustenance. He could leave and go hunt his own food of course, but while he's under my care, he goes with me EVERY time I have to leave the area due to some serious shit headed this way. Fortunately, "Every" time = none. For now.

But if a nuke went off in D.C., you're damn right he'd be in my car with me moving away from the fallout zone.

12. Same here, but sometimes people panic and take the photo
albums instead.(not people here, I hope.) The info is also helpful to people who come back into an area that has been hit--they need to take in animals they find rather than turn them in to the humane society.

13. Well, they don't allow pets in so many places...
I guess people figure they couldn't stay at the Hoity Toity Hotel or whatever if they brought their dog/cat/whatever??

I haven't had to do that either, but if I did, the cat's coming--I think it's a bit easier with cats though. If we *had* to leave the car for a hotel room or whatever, she'd be easy to sneak in.

15. If I got caught, I'd sleep in the car
I'd probably sleep like shit, but that would wake me up earlier and I could get driving again and leaves all those assholes behind me.
