Calls from long lost relatives
Well, I guess not long lost but I haven't talked to my sister in probably four years and she called me out of the blue today. :bounce: It was really neat and we had a good long chat. I'm terrible at keeping in touch with family and we're all scattered all over so that was cool. Does anyone else go for years without talking to relatives they aren't at odds with or is that just me?

1. I used to
now I am actually at odds with them. We got along much better when we didn't make any attempts.

2. I have to admit
I get along much better with my family now that most of them live 3000 miles away from me. As a matter of fact, I went home for a visit last year and got together with a few of my siblings (there are six of us) and within about an hour, I remembered why I love it so much out here.

3. I had not seen a cousin in over 15 years....
I saw her 4 years ago when her sister (my cousin Jenny, who was like a sister to me) died of cancer. Jenny's sister (Ann), showed up to take over the funeral arrangements without anyone asking her. Jenny's husband and adult children had to put her in her place. Ann is single and has two adult children who want nothing to do with her. We always thought that Ann had done well, she was married to a doctor. Rumors in the family were that her husband had divorced her because she couldn't keep her panties on...she was a huge adulterous.

After my cousin Jenny died, Ann became resentful because she didn't get any money from her sister. Out of the blue, Ann called me and asked me if she could come to Arizona and stay with me until she found a job and a place to live. We were little girls together, but not really friends but we're family. She's now in my house and I can't wait for her to get out. She's like an onion, with every layer of skin you peel, the more problems you find. She's a real drama queen. Ann owes the IRS 25K since 1991, and they've been gunning for her. She was depositing her paycheck from her new job in the bank, and the IRS was was cleaning out her account. Now she has 30 checks that bounced and not one penny in her pocket. We paid for the down payment on her apartment and utilities. How she pays for her bounce checks, the IRS, and a handful of credit cards, that's her problem. I lost all respect for her. She's a real shyster.

4. Since I moved to Orlando
I get calls from "long lost relatives" all the time. They are usually looking for a place to stay while they do Disney.
