Wow. I'm in Memphis, and the edges of Katrina are hitting here. |
|
The clouds are scudding across the sky very fast and the trees are dancing. This is one big storm to be affecting us like this already. I don't think it's going to get too bad here, though. I really feel for those further to the south :(

1. 60 miles south of Nashville- the tree tops are stirring. |
|
A bit of rain from time to time. They say it will still be a tropical storm when it hits about 2-3am Tuesday.

If you see them, please be nice them. She's the lovely blonde with the deep voice with the hunky hubby who sounds like he's from Brooklyn. Duckie

and uber-powerful
probably the most powerful Gulf coast hrricane since Camille in 1969
Camille was small though, but had winds over 200 mph and very low barometric pressure that flooded the Gulf coast with over 30 foot storm surges

6. Another Memphian checking in here |
|
It's starting to look nasty out there. I know Jackson MS had 90 mph winds this afternoon and it's a good 300 miles inland. I haven't heard how bad it will get here, but I know it won't compare to the conditions on the coast.
To all those on the coast, my thoughts are with you tonight.

7. I'm beginning to wonder |
|
if not taking the patio furniture in was a good idea. I don't think it's going to get too bad, here, but the wind really is picking up more than I thought it would.
My thoughts are with those on the coast as well. I look outside and imagine what I see magnafied 100X. How terrifying it must be for those who stayed, and those who don't know what they're returning to, if anything.
