1. It smells strong and NASTY
Go buy some cheap tomato juice and douse them with it. Leave it on a bit before you rinse.

Yeah, they may be pink, but it cuts the stink....

11. i had a roomie that had a cat that LOVED the herb, just LOVED it!
He would play with baggies until he worked them open and would scatter and roll. Just like with catnip. We finally had to send the cat to Betty Ford.

2. mustard? not to me...it smells like skunk!!!
Give them a tomato juice bath first. Apply liberally. It's gonna be disgusting. Follow the tomato juice bath with a good scrubbing with good dog or horse shampoo. Follow that with a Fbreeze spraydown. Be prepared. No matter what you do, you will not get rid of all the stink. It will wear off in about a week or so.

4. that doesn't sound quite right...
Mebbe your Boston skunks smell like Grey Poupon?

Either way - make your roommate clean those hounds. If it is a skunk, tomato juice does NOT work. We're vets of many a skunking.

In a bucket, mix:

1 quart of FRESH hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup baking soda
1 teaspoon liquid soap

The mixture will bubble. Thoroughly wet the victim in this mixture, taking care to keep it out of the eyes. Wash the dog with the mixture as if it were shampoo while it is bubbling. Rinse the dog and repeat. Be careful not to contaminate the rinse water.

The soap breaks down the oil in which the odor is suspended, and the hydrogen peroxide and baking soda neutralize the scent. Do not premix the solution or store this potion in a bottle (the bubbling would cause it to explode).

6. doesn't smell right to me, either
but the only thing we could think of is uber-freshness in an unbelievably powerful dose - or there's a Robotic Mustard Skunk out there giving everyone the munchies

9. i like the idea of the robotic mustard skunk
fyi - boiling vinegar helps cut through the smell in the house.

i mean...yeah...then your house smells like vinegar...but that's marginally better than skunk.

8. Give the roommate this recipe:
The following recipe was developed to neutralize the odour-causing compound in skunk spray.

SKUNK DEODORANT RECIPE
1 Quart of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide

¼ Cup of Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate)

1 Tsp. Liquid Soap (Dish Detergent)

Mix the above together in a plastic bucket and wash the infected object, be it human, canine, feline, garage, shed, car basement, etc. Make sure you keep the solution away from eyes, nose and mouth. The skunk odour should disappear immediately!

This product is fast and safe – and best of all, it works!
